Escort Controller |
|
The TandemHeart Escort Controller
can be mounted at the patient's bedside, on an IV pole or
table top. The design retains many of the proven
subsystems of the original controller, such as the pump
drive motor circuits, flow estimator, air bubble detector,
IV pump, and infusion system. Retaining these
subsystems maintains compatibility between the two
generations of controllers. The Escort Controller
weighs 21 pounds, allowing for easier transport within the
hospital.
The Escort Controller also includes extensive self-diagnostic and alarm
features to ensure patient support without the need for
constant operator surveillance. Built in batteries allow
uninterrupted operation for at least an hour during patient
transport or in the event of AC power failure. The
Escort Controller also include a Flow Sensor for more
precise flow measurement from the Pump.
The Escort Controller includes a precision metering system for
supplying the lubrication fluid to the pump. The lubrication
fluid is supplied from a standard saline IV bag, and the
convenient, preassembled, sterile infusion tubing set provides
for the connection from the bag to the pump infusion line.
The new easy-load infusion system will allow the infusion
line to be installed in a matter of seconds.

TandemHeart Controller |
|
The TandemHeart Controller is a custom
designed system for driving the Pump and supplying the
lubrication fluid. It includes two controllers, a primary
and back-up, which are constantly monitoring each other and
are ready for use. While only one controller is active at
any given time, the Pump can be switched to the back-up
controller in a matter of seconds.
The system includes extensive
self-diagnostic and alarm features to ensure patient support
without the need for constant operator surveillance. Built
in batteries allow uninterrupted operation for at least one
hour for patient transport or in the event of AC power
failure.
The Controller includes a precision metering
system for supplying the lubrication fluid to the Pump. The
lubrication fluid is supplied from a standard saline IV bag,
and the convenient, pre-assembled, sterile infusion tubing
set provides for the connection from the bag to the pump
infusion line. A pressure transducer is used to monitor the
infusion pressure and alert for blockages in the infusion
line. The new easy-load infusion system will allow the
infusion line to be installed in a matter of seconds.
